We now have computer classes for some of the older boys at our Stepping Stones Centre. These six boys are so happy to begin learning skills which they hope to be able to use in the future. Teacher Ian is a university graduate in IT and is doing an amazing job with them. The lessons are running for one hour Monday through Friday with the boys split into two groups of three to allow for more individual teaching.
This is a pilot scheme to ascertain if boys will commit to learning over a period of time to become proficient in the use of computers. If the scheme is successful, Gap Kenya will look at expanding this to include many more boys.
Staff Training Day
It was good to be able to all meet for our training day this month Staff from both centres and from the foster family home were able to get together to share information and ideas, and to have some fun. Teamwork was the theme of the day and included our yearly Child Protection Policy update.
