From the dumpsite to university, Dan’s journey is nothing short of inspiring — and now, with Gap Kenya opening a second foster home, even more children are stepping into a brighter future.
From the Dumpsite to University – Dan’s Big Step!

This final week of August marks an incredible milestone — Dan has just begun his four-year degree in Public Health at university!
It’s hard to believe how far he’s come. As a young boy living on the Mwakirunge garbage dump, university felt like an impossible dream. But through love, stability, and hard work, Dan has achieved what once seemed out of reach.
The whole foster home celebrated with him before he set off on this new adventure, and we’re already looking forward to catching up with him when he returns for the December holidays. Dan will continue to stay at the foster home during breaks until he completes his degree.
This is a huge step, and we’d love your support as he begins this journey. Together, we can help him succeed!

Big News! Gap Kenya has opened its second foster home!

Janet and Dan, with their three children, have welcomed four children from the Mwakirunge dumpsite into their family. A safe home, new schools, and fresh opportunities – lives are being transformed!
But we really need your help! Our new foster home in Bamburi still needs the basics – beds, tables, sheets, and plates – to make it a real home. No gift is too small. Please stand with us and help give these children the safe, loving home they deserve.
